One day, I was hanging out with friends at Café Joe’s, when I got a call
from the Police Commissioner informing me that their satellite connection was
having a problem. The Commissioner requested me to look it up.
Oops! I forgot to tell that I’m a superhero. Yes, a superhero! The one who
beats up the bad guys and saves the city. Yes! That’s who I am friends, a Kinetic
boy!
I quickly changed into my official costume and used my airplane to zoom
to the satellite. And boy oh boy, what did I see! Something was fiddling with
the satellite! There was also something parked near it. It was a red conical
shape with the name Alazo written on it. I was wondering what it was when
suddenly it struck me. It was a spaceship! The thing fiddling with the
satellite was an alien!
I went closer and pointed my bullet catapult towards him. He shouted, “Don’t
hurt me, I am innocent! I need help.”
I was surprised. I asked, “What are you doing over here?”
“I have to find gadgets to repair my ship. My name is Alanom and yours?”,
he said.
“I am Kinetic Boy from the Earth.”, I replied.
“Oh, I need to get home to my planet Alazo but my spaceship is broken. I
can’t get it moving!”, he said weakly.
“Hmmm, if only we were at my house, I could fix this in a jiffy.”, I
said.
And then I got an idea, I said, “Come to my planet Earth. I can help you.”
“I can’t, there’s a monster after me!”
“Monster? Why?”, I asked.
“There is an emerald stone with me, which is known to wake up the dead. The
monster wants to make his alien army and invade the Universe. I should get back
home and quickly hand this stone to my emperor.”, Alanom said.
I offered, “Earth is a safe place and I can repair that spaceship when
we reach there.”
Reluctantly, he agreed.
“Don’t worry, you’ll be fine and reach your planet in no time.”, I comforted
him.
When we reached my house, I made him wear my clothes. He was just
looking like a human. I warned, “You shouldn’t tell anyone that you’re an alien.”
I was scared that my mother might find out. I was worried about one thing, “How
should I fit the ship inside the house?”
“It can be converted into a small toy too. I can convert it for you.”,
Alanom said.
“So please do.”, I requested.
He pressed a red button with the word mini written on it. The ship
folded like paper!!!! Alanom handed me
the ship. I kept it on my study table.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang. I went down and opened the door. It was
Arjun and Shashwat. I told them that I made a new friend named Alanom, and he is
in my room. I introduced Alanom to my friends. “What a weird name!”, Shashwat
told. Arjun nodded in agreement.
“Guys, it’s so hot. Let us go get some ice-cream.” I told.
“Yeah”, Arjun said smacking his lips.
We took one scoop each. Alanom wasn’t eating. He left the ice-cream and
ran away to a garden and started eating dirty mud. When we came, his stomach
was full and was inspecting the plants. “Is your friend an alien?”, Shashwat
asked. “Ummm, yes”, I said.
We reached my house and went to my room. My mother called from
downstairs to switch off the lights and go to bed. After 15 minutes when the
house was quiet we lit our torches and got on the job. It took us the entire
night to fix the ship. We took turns to nap while Alanom kept a watch on the
door. Finally by 7 am, we were done. Alanom hugged me and said goodbye to
others. He went to Alazo with the magical stone.
Suddenly, I felt being violently shaken. I opened my eyes and saw my mom
telling me, “Kabir, wake up. Time for school!”
I rubbed my eyes and sat upright on the bed and looked around for my
friends and Alanom!
None of them were there.
