Maggi- by Sara Sharma

Eating Noodles Clipart
One day, my mother was not there at home. I was very hungry. I started dreaming about a wand.

I went to the kitchen to find something to eat. There was nothing. Then I went to my room and saw a  wand. I went back to the kitchen and said, "Magic wand, make me some Maggi. Instead of Maggi, it gave me the materials. I started cooking. I took 4 cups of water and boiled it. I added the noodle cakes and masala. I mixed it well. It was yummy. I ate it all.

From that day, I kept the wand safely. I never told anyone about the wand.

Harry cooked Maggi- By Vihaan Bajpai

Hello, my name is Vihaan. I am on vacation with my friends at the Amazon rainforest. I am living in a treehouse on a very tall tree, so I can see the whole Amazon rainforest.
I love to swing on Vines and climb them up and down to have fun, but I miss my Maggi. Let me ask Harry Potter to make Maggi, “Harry! I want Maggi, so get me one!”
Harry came running, “Ok, jeez!”. He started giving instructions around, “Pan, fly, roam around, and go to the gas. Teacup, fill yourself with water and pour it in the pan. Yummy tummy Maggi, break yourself up and swim in the pan. Spicy tasty Masala, pour yourself up in the boiling water pan.”
“I still can make it better.”, said Harry Potter
He added more spices, chicken pieces, cheese, pepper, and some vegetables like carrots. He took two pieces of bread to make Maggi sandwich.

Wow! I loved it.
“Thank you, Harry. see you in my dreams”

Character analysis of the princess- By Mitali Ghosh

The three things that made this princess happy are:
  1. gorgeous pink dress gifted by her mother
  2. chocolate milkshake made by her aunt
  3. birthday party of her new best friend
What I feel about the Princess:

She loves her mother whose touch always embraces in her mind. She is very close to her mother and always feels her mother's affection.

The milkshake was prepared by her aunt in the family's get-together. This is her favorite. Her aunt loves her.

She went to her new friend's birthday party where she played a lot of games. She went with her mother. The presence of her mother in the party increased her happiness.

The princess loves her family and friends. She has good family values.

In childhood, a touch from parents, a visit from relatives on occasions, and to be with family are very important.

If I had a pet dinosaur- by Rishit

If I had a pet dinosaur, it would be a stegosaurus as I think it was one of the most useful dinosaurs. He would be about my size or a little bit taller than me, so I could ride him.
He would live inside my house and would sleep next to me on my bed. I would make sure that he was potty-trained as I would not like to be responsible for cleaning his feces.
He would be a herbivore from birth and we could give him palak or methi to eat every day.

Now, about school. My parents would save a lot of money because of him as I would ride him to school every day. I would disguise him as a man carrying me by painting him. At school, I would go to the principal’s office and ask him if he could allow my pet. If he said no, I would threaten to kill him. In the same way, I would threaten the teachers as well to not give me homework and not let me write exams. Also, I would play a lot of games with my pet dinosaur at home and in school during recess. If someone tried to bully me (mostly the higher grades), I would use him as a defense. I would also run races with him as he would run pretty fast. I would be able to improve my running speed with his help. I would train him to be like me - kind and not short-tempered.

Most importantly, he and I would be very rich and famous. We would be on TV shows. There would be movies on us. We would be known all around the globe. He could also keep me safe from diseases. He would save me from the people who were jealous of me and who wanted to send assassins to kill me. Overall, he would be a great friend of mine and also very useful to me.

If I had a pet dinosaur- by Sara

If I had a dinosaur, it would be an archaeopteryx. I would name him Dino. He could live with me as he would be small. He could take me to school and bring me back home.

He would be a strong and smart pet. If the slides in the park were not free, I would use her back as a slide. He would sing me a lullaby, which would sound like lalamalapalawasa. He would eat grass. He would sleep at 1 am and wake up at 6 am. And if anyone would bully me, my dinosaur would punch them. And if mam would give us homework, he would shout at mam.

Dino would love watching tv channels, so l would teach him how to use the remote control. Also, because of him, I would not have any exam!

Haunted house: A horror story by Rishit

Image result for haunted house

One fine day, three children- John, George, and Missy- were playing football in the street as usual. George passed the ball too high, and John missed the pass. The ball went rolling on the other side of the street. Missy called John and George there. When they saw where their ball had landed, the expressions on their faces changed. It was the haunted house of an old man that ate anything that came into its garden. Right now, it was sleeping.

All three of them crept into the garden with the fear that they could be eaten up any minute. They took the ball from the garden when a drop of John’s sweat fell into the grass. The house woke up, roaring. It saw the children picking up their football and trying to run away hurriedly. It recognized Missy as it had taken her kite once. It showed the kite at its doorstep which lured Missy immediately. Even though John and George warned her, she kept going toward the kite. When she was close enough, the house started pulling her inside. John and George went after her, but they also started getting sucked inside the house. In no time, all of them were eaten, but they didn’t die. They were in the first room and they heard the house tremble. All of a sudden, the floor started opening from the center to make them fall inside. They all knew that if they fell in that hole they would die, so they all stayed on the corners of the room.

Eventually, the floor hole started shrinking and closing. When it closed completely, they started exploring. They went from one door to another. Soon, they reached a large room that had everything you could think of- pogo sticks, cricket bats and balls, shuttles and many more things. There were also some people whom they met. They were so glad to know that some of them had survived and so were the people who were trapped inside. They asked them how long they had been here and the people answered 1 year. They had survived on the little food and water that had been wasted by the owner of the house. He was an old man whose wife had died several years ago. They also said that the spirit of his dead wife haunted the house. There were only two doors to the house, one which they came in from and another that they were going to go in. After all the people went in, the door magically closed and locked them inside. Everybody started panicking, as they couldn’t see anything in the dark. Soon their eyes got accustomed to the dark and they saw a dead body there. They knew this was the wife of the man who had died years ago and who haunted the house.

They pulled the body out of the glass coffin in which it was kept. As soon as they did that, they heard a sound as if the house was dying. Quickly, all of them together managed to find a way out of the house and chucked the woman’s body out on the streets. Then, they went to the owner and asked him about the dead body. He told them the story of the woman and also thanked them profusely. He invited them for dinner as well. After that day he started giving out the things of the people which the house had eaten. The children were rewarded for their bravery. But the best thing of all- Missy got her kite back.

Genre writing by grade 2

I gave various story sheets to my grade 2 batch last month and asked them to write different stories based on different genres. They gasped and almost fainted. But, a little encouragement was all they needed. They wrote horror stories, mythological stories, mysteries, and historical stories. They were too excited about their stories to leave them with me for publishing. I managed to catch hold of these.

Historical story by Maanya Khandelwal:
3000 years ago, there lived a king and a queen. Their names were Mayaa and Tete.
One day, people from their kingdom asked the king for some money. Tete gave them some money, but they wanted more money. Tete didn't have any more money. People began fighting with Tete and Mayaa.
Tete and Mayaa died. They were kept in a box then. Now they are called mummies.

Historical story by Teisha Gulati:
Once upon a time, there lived a boy named Jim. He lived with his parents.
His parents died. Jim felt very sad and lonely. He remembered what his father had said, "Stay with an animal when we die". Jim used to be very scared of the animals. But he was alone and he knew animals wouldn't bite him.
He went to a forest and loved all the animals. He lived with them.

Mystery by Aarav Maharjan:
On Christmas, Sam was wanted to open his gifts.
He had seen his gift the night before but now he couldn't find it anywhere. He asked his mother. She said it was a riddle and he had to solve the riddle to get the puzzle. She said his gifts were in a place where we never go. He thought a lot about that place where no one would go ever. He went to the storeroom but realized that his mother often went to the storeroom. Instead of looking everywhere, he started thinking.
He found his gifts under the bed!

Sad story by Yoshitha:
Once John's parents went out for dinner. John didn't go out with them.
When they were on their way to the restaurant, a car came and dashed into theirs. They died on the spot. Everybody crowded near the car. They called the police. The police came but couldn't find out who had dashed into John's parents' car.
The mystery killer went to John's house and killed him too. He died.

Mystery by Samaira:
Sam was very excited to open his Christmas gift.
But he couldn't find his gift anywhere. He searched around the whole house. He searched around his apartment complex too. He asked his mother. She told him to look for it where the maid never cleaned and mopped. He thought a lot about it and tried to remember what his mother scolded the maid about regularly.
He looked under the bed and found his gift!
