To Olympus: A travelogue by Yash

To many people, Olympus is just the highest mountain in Greece, but for me, it is the next generation of architecture. Buildings everywhere you go, various armories, halls, and at last the magnificent glory, ‘The Throne Room’. How to get there you ask? Let me tell you how I went there.

Once I took on the trail for climbing Mount Olympus, in the middle, I found the ruins of a small temple, hardly 5 feet tall. When I saw the ruins for the first time, I didn’t know what to do. I looked at the carvings carefully and saw that there were a few English letters. I saw a sentence forming out of those words, ‘Open Window’. I said those words, and suddenly a whole caved in on the place I was standing. I fell into the deep cavern. After regaining consciousness, I took a look around, and there I was in the heavenly abode of Olympus. If you want a tour, you have to pay in Drachmas, a special currency. Of course, I didn’t have it, so I asked them what I had to do in order to take the tour. They said that I didn’t need to do anything special; instead, I just had to tell them any story about the gods. I used to read Percy Jackson when I was young which helped me in telling the story about how the king of gods, Zeus, saved his brothers and sisters from Kronos. 

They liked the story so much that they gave a tour to me and also 200 drachmas that are a lot.

After the tour, I went to King Zeus and asked his permission to write about my adventure once I reached back home.

The Elemental Master: By Aarnav Singh

                        

One day, I was testing my running speed on a bright morning. When I started running, I ran like how I used to, but soon, I was not able to control my speed. Eventually, I started running so fast that it made a portal, and I got sucked into it. 

There I met an old man. I asked him who he was and where I was. The old man said, "I am Sensei Wu. I am a teacher of Spinjitzu. You seem pretty capable of being a good superhero. I shall give you whatever superpower you want, but you must remember that if you take these superpowers, there will be an evil you will need to fight with.” I reassured him that once I had the superpowers of lightning, earth, ice, water, and fire, nothing could stop me. I went back to earth, I faced the alien who Sensei Wu was afraid of. The alien commander had an army. His superpower was that he and his army were able to go through everything except water. Well in the beginning, I thought it would be easy, but it was hard even though I also had the superpower of water. When the battle began the whole earth was counting on me, the Elemental Master. I fought bravely until I understood that each alien had different weaknesses. It took me a lot of time to understand which alien had which weakness. Finally, I noticed a pattern. The ones which had 3 eyes were afraid of water the ones which had 1 eye were afraid of fire.

I fought till there was only the alien commander left. It took a long time with him. I tried using the water to strike him to death, but I needed to hit home with more water. I was not getting any idea, so I tried to keep him busy by the strongest water move I had many times in a row. It was weakening him. Finally, I tried to make it rain with lightning. Now, he was really weak. He wasn’t even able to move a little bit. But even after so many water-strikes, he was still alive. I was puzzled as to how it was possible. Then I remembered Sensei Wu was the teacher of the art of Spinjitzu. I tried to do it, and immediately, the alien commander was dead!!!! At first, I thought it was a trick but he was dead, like literally dead.

My name is Shaantamer. I can tame all the wild animals. My pets are tiger, chimpanzee, elegant, cheetah, and snake. My enemy is an alien whose name is Pendo. He is from Pluto planet. He has electrical power in his hands. He can kill people by electric current. He has often tried to attack humans. I've always managed to save people from him.

One day, I was playing with my pets, the tiger and the snake, when I saw a spaceship. I was curious and got shocked when I saw Pendo coming out of this spaceship. He saw all good people of the earth riding in their cars and bikes and started killing them by throwing electric current.

I called all my pets. Tiger, chimpanzee, and snake attacked him. My elephant broke his spaceship. My Cheetah maimed him. Pendo fled away.

It was the victory of good people over bad people.

Smality saves the world again: By Tashvi Beria

Where were these tiny 5-legged 3-eyed weird aliens coming from? Why did they want to attack the world? Well, only Smality could find out. Smality said there was only one way to find out what the aliens wanted, and it was by exploring!

"First of all, where is their master?" Asked Smality, "Has anyone one of you seen the green creatures right now?" Ishaan said, "Yes, I saw them 30 minutes ago going through the jungle." Smality thanked Ishaan. So, now Smality had a whole new adventure in front of her. She went into the jungle and was shocked. She saw a whole colony of aliens standing and having a group discussion. There was an older one talking. As Smality had the ability to shrink her size, that is what she did, and this is what she heard, "The humans have been throwing things into space and many of our species are dying. Now we are going to take revenge." 

Smality rushed back to people and told everybody about it. Everybody understood. So, nobody littered anymore. Aliens didn't attack the humans. Smality saved the planet and humans!

Jane's big birthday bash- By Dhriti

 

Once, there was a girl called Jane. It was her birthday tomorrow. Her mom had promised to bring her a Unicorn plushie for a present. She went to the park and invited her friends to the BIG BIRTHDAY BASH.

Her mother went to the party store to bring confetti, banners, ribbons, and balloons. Jane wanted to give her friends diaries for the party. So, Jane’s mom gave her some money before going to get the decorations to buy a few diaries for her friends. After coming from the store, Jane’s mom helped her wrap the books. Jane, her mom, and her best friend Anne did the decorations while Jane’s dad went to get the cake. After 6:00 pm, Jane got ready for her party. Her mom helped her get ready. Then all her friends came to the party. Good old mom had planned plenty of games to play. They played musical chairs, hide and seek. The hide and seek had a twist; everybody had to look for a few parcels that had wonderful prizes. Jane even managed to get a piñata when going to the store! While Jane went to get some water, for she was tired, a boy from the party came along. He bullied poor Jane by telling her that the party just looked hideous! Poor Jane felt so sad that she left the party. Her mom found her sitting under a tree. Jane’s mom consoled her and told her that it didn’t matter how others thought the party was but as long as she liked it, everybody would be happy. 

So Jane changed her mind and re-joined the BIG BIRTHDAY BASH. She ignored that boy and danced and sang. The boy apologized. Jane was very forgiving, so she agreed. Jane had a small sleepover with her best friend Anne after the party. She felt content. She fell asleep to dream about one big birthday bash she will never forget!

Bobo the fish: By Nandan

Once there was a fish named Bobo. He lived in the Pacific ocean. He had two friends Pam and Dishi.

One day, on their way to school, they all saw a shark named Martin. He came and said, “All of you should go away from this ocean after school otherwise I will eat you.”

So, they went to school and told their teacher. The teacher told everyone to discuss the problem. All of them discussed. Then Bobo said, “We all can form a big fish using corals found in the ocean.” They left school, went near the corals, and formed a big fish using them.  They showed the big fish to Martin and went back to school to hide. Martin saw the fish and got scared. He ran away.

After this, Bobo thought nobody was in danger. All the three fish went back home talking happily. Bobo reached home and told his parents about this incident. His parents appreciated him for his clever idea.

Tommy – the lost fish: by Karthik

One day, a fish named Tommy was going to the market with his mother. Tommy saw lots of sweets

in a shop and went there. It was very crowded, and he got lost. He started calling for his mom.

His mom was worried because she could not find Tommy. Tommy searched his mother

everywhere, but he could not find her either. Tommy was very scared. He asked many strangers

about his mom. Tommy thought he saw his mother. He went to check. But unfortunately, that was not

his mom. 

He searched everywhere in the shop. Finally, he saw her at the exit. He was very happy,

and both went back to the lake.

Mimi the Champion: by Sahasra Sunil

    

                                        

Once in an ocean, there lived a fish. Her name was Mimi. Mimi and her friend Noodles would play a lot in the ocean. One day, there was a swimming competition. Mimi participated and won the competition. The organizers gave her a trophy and her family gave her a hug. Mimi was now a swimming champion. 

Mimi asked her coach to give her swimming lessons every day instead of only weekends. One day, in the class, the coach made teams. Mimi had all beginners in her team. She was clueless about how to win the competition. She made sure she gave personal lessons to all her teammates after school.

On the day of the competition, Mimi wished all her teammates luck and dove into the pool. She won the race. Now the question was, "Will others also win?" She had given good training to all her teammates. Everyone won but one in her team lost. The other team was very confident about winning and hadn't practiced at all. So this was a plus point for Mimi and her team. Three people lost in the opposite team. Hence Mimi's team won.

For Mimi, it was a first-ever experience of heading a team. She did it well. She thought about helping others win too. She was a real champion now.

There was once a scientist whose name was Mr.Disaster. He was notorious for having constant catastrophes in his laboratory. One day, due to his catastrophes and disasters, he was fired from his job.

After getting fired, Mr.Disaster got addicted to chemicals. He made blunders everywhere with the spillage of chemicals. He had minions working for him. These minions were very trivial according to him. One day, he fabricated a chemical that was so useful that many people tried to counterfeit it. 

When his chemical got sold, a person tasted it and told it was very gross. So, Mr.Disaster had to make a whole new chemical with good taste. While making that, he got possessed, and after a few days, he made the chemical. It was sold all over the city which made him rich and he got very famous.

Mad scientist- By Aadya Katyayan

                                

At a science laboratory, there was a scientist who loved his job and did it very well. The saddest thing he could imagine was getting fired. Since he was very good at his job, he was treated very badly by the other jealous scientists. The other scientists used to gossip and fabricate things about him to the manager of the laboratory because they were jealous of him and wanted to get him fired.

And by doing all this, the day finally came when he got fired. After he heard this, he went insane and got addicted to alcohol and smoking. The scientist went so crazy that many people were under the false impression that he was possessed by a crazy ghost. He was a very important part of the company, and the other scientists had not realized that until there was a huge catastrophe while they were doing a new experiment. They finally realized the blunder they had made.

 

So, the other scientists went to the crazy scientist to apologize for their terrible action and requested him to come back. He accepted the apology and came back. He stopped smoking and drinking, and everything was soon back to normal. Most importantly,  the other scientists didn't treat him badly anymore!
