While Joseph N. Niepce, a retired French military officer, was perfecting his
design of a camera, there was a mouse in the corner watching it all. It was 1826, and in
France, Niepce was trying to figure out a way to capture an image. This camera was
known as "Obscura", comprising of two wooden boxes out of which one box had a lens
and the other had a screen, which was green in color. The mouse saw the camera and
wondered it could take a picture of him. When Niepce went to the bathroom, the mouse
decided to try and take a picture.
He had seen Niepce taking pictures, so he knew which buttons to press to get a
picture. The mouse decided to take the camera outside and take a picture of the
beautiful sunset. The mouse put the camera on the ground and then pressed the button.
He knew that the camera took a while for the picture to develop, so he decided to
photobomb his own picture by jumping in front of the lens so that he would be in it along
with the sunset. Then he took the camera back inside.
Niepce still hadn’t come out of the bathroom, so the mouse decided to examine
the picture he took. It was actually pretty good, but he knew he had to get rid of the
picture or else Niepce would see it. The mouse tore the picture and placed the
camera in the exact place where he had taken it from. Then, he scurried back to his hole
and decided to tell all of his friends about his experience.
