Mystery story by Dhanya Aravindan

Once, we got a case of people disappearing. We were told that every family was giving a bag of money to a poor family every alternate day. And the person carrying the money bag, would disappear and never return home. This poor family was located inside a vast jungle. We were not yet sure if the family was poor or not as they never stepped out of their house. The number of
disappearances were increasing rapidly.

I was too eager to know where this place was because I knew the map of the town and had never come across such a place. My friend’s mom was a detective and she was trying to solve the case. We followed her. According to the map we landed in a place where only one broken house was there that had five people living there with many cupboards with nothing and a small bag of relics. The house was extended back. We were puzzled. We looked around for clues, All we found was 5 juice cans with Coke symbols on it. My friend's mom said, "Here is the evidence that they are the kidnappers." We were lost. I tried to understand the case. It took me a while, but I understood it. Obviously, a poor family can not afford 5 cans of Coke. We opened the cupboard and saw nothing. Upon looking carefully, we noticed something. The bricks inside had a little gap between them. We pushed it open and saw a big room with people inside. We caught hold of the kidnappers and took the kidnapped people aside to check for bruises and hurt. We opened the bag that had lots of relics inside. We opened each of them and saw money inside them. It was a whopping amount of 10 billion rupees.

We booked them for kidnapping and extortion. They were sentenced for 8 years.
