Dinosaurs- What Books Monsters Know about them!!

Non-fiction writing can be sometimes more difficult than fiction writing, as it requires a good knowledge on the topic given.

So we chose DINOSAURS since we all are so fascinated by these extinct creatures!! We played with Dinosaur toys, and presented the books we read in teams. Let's see the interesting facts written by our BookMonsters (7-9 years old):

Ira: Dinosaurs existed millions of years ago. Few dinosaurs could fly.

Samanyu: First dinosaurs appeared 230 million years ago

Maitrayee: Dinosaurs first appeared in that part of the supercontinent of Pangea which now corresponds to South America

Shreevats: Brachiosaurus was a large dinosaur weighing 50000-80000 kg.

Saivi: Dinosaurs means big frightening lizards. They died at the end of mesozoic era.

Aditi: Plant eating dinosaurs ate horsetails, ferns, cycads and conifers, as there were no fruits/vegetables that time.

Dhriti: The giant plant-eating sauropods were the biggest and heaviest dinosaurs to walk on earth. When Chinese people found the first bones of dinosaurs, they thought those were the bones of dragons.

Mahit: Pteranodons were massive flying reptiles.

Soham: Barosaurus was an extremely large herbivore. It ate around 4000pounds of vegetation each day.

Siddhant: Tyrannosaurus Rex was bigger than elephants. The first dinosaur to be formally named was Megalosaurus.
